Cody and I eloped at the Santa Barbara Court House, and we’re planning a celebration with friends and family in the future. Cody is not Jewish but appreciates my need for more Jewish traditions at our next service. I can’t wait to get under the Chuppah with Cody, and Bagel will be under it with us. We’ve already had lots of practice avoiding smashed glass & paws!
We had adopted Bagel from @pawworks and when we got married she was newly allowed to walk in public, after having her final set of puppy vaccines. It was so much fun and so romantic strolling around the Santa Barbara streets with Bagel – and, coming from Los Angeles, she enjoyed the lack of traffic for her first walks. After we were married, Bagel – wearing her little pearl and rose collar, came with us to Anderssons bakery for cake and to toast our marriage.
Bagel stole the show during our ceremony. It wasn’t the easiest concentrating on our vows holding her wriggly little body. But since there weren’t any guests, we were the only ones to do it!
We stayed at @palisociety, which was very dog friendly, and we took Bagel’s crate with us so we could keep her safe in the bedroom while we went downstairs to the bar. Then we ordered Italian takeaway to have back in the hotel room.
Bagel brought an extra element of love to the day. We will always remember her being there, providing cuteness and chaos on our special day.
