Mitzvah Project: Raising Money for the Israel Guide Dog Center
I wanted to raise money for the Israel Guide Dog Center as my Bat Mitzvah Project because it’s very close my heart. My vision issues started when I was two years old and I was diagnosed with an Early Onset Retinal Dystrophy. We don’t know my future prognosis.
As I am getting older and more independent my vision issues have made it more difficult for me than before. I am white cane trained for dark situations because I can’t always rely on my friends. So, I wanted to support people who have the same struggle as I do. Through this organization I have learned the very intense and long (and costly) process that goes into raising a guide dog.
